I can't remember exactly when it was when waves after waves of "coffee-fever" started infecting Malaysians, but one thing is for sure - this delirium is here to stay.
Being the typical Malaysian that I am, it wasn't long before I've caught the fever myself. I have never liked coffee before, but now, I cannot go pass a day without having my favorite cup of latte. What's more, SAYS has just made it easier for every coffee-lover out there by compiling a list of the top 20 must-try coffee places in KL, and here's No.4 on their list:
Coffee Amo, so conveniently located along one of the busier streets of Chinatown.
The staircase leading to the cafe which is on the first floor.
I was stunned the moment I took my first step into the cafe - everyone was so quiet, their voices almost inaudible; their motions were gradual, almost as though everything were still.
I felt as though my presence had consumed the tranquility within the room. The only noise there came from the clacking of my own heels against the wooden plank flooring. I finally resorted to tip-toeing to reach the counter before someone decided to throw a book at me for all the commotion I was causing.
I couldn't agree more.
Their bite-sized but thorough menu:
Sugars for the day:
Caffe Latte (RM10)
Wild Berries Tea (RM8)
Nutella Moist Chocolate Cake (RM10)
Amo Waffles w/ Ice-Cream (RM10)
Yes I do believe that the food and drinks are pretty overpriced here, but I think that it is worth every penny you pay because the ambiance here is perfect for a quiet and relaxing drink after work (keep in mind that other cafes around town are usually crowded and rowdy). Moreover, there isn't any service charge nor tax, and lastly...
You get to listen to free live music ;)
I loved it!
