Endau Rompin National Park is the largest protected area in Peninsular Malaysia's southern half. This ancient rainforest realm in the state of Johor is a biodiversity hotspot. It is also the key habitat for the survival of globally threatened megafauna, such as the Malayan Tigers, long-tail macaques, Malayan Tapirs, and Asian Elephants. The park has two official entry points which are the Peta gate on the park's eastern boundary in the district of Mersing, and the Selai entrance on the park's southwestern boundary in the district of Segamat.
