Sautéed Hake in Herbed Horseradish Sauce

What is Hake?

Hake is a mild-flavoured white fish, prized for its soft texture that firms into delicate flakes when cooked. Often found fresh, smoked, or frozen in supermarkets, this member of the cod family is especially popular in European cuisine. Compared to cod, hake is slightly sweeter with a more tender bite, making it a versatile base for bold, herbaceous sauces.
